Event Manager (seasonal)

The Event Manager is responsible for ensuring that anyone who attends, volunteers, or performs at SummerStage events has a positive experience. This includes assisting patrons with questions and ticket sales, interacting with performers/production staff during event set up/tear down, training & overseeing event volunteers, and providing backup support for volunteer positions. The Event Manager is a highly visible and prominent ambassador of SummerStage, who shall be friendly, welcoming, and positive.

  • Ability to be a team player

  • Ability to handle exchange of money

  • Ability to work outdoors during all types of seasonal weather

  • Ability to confidently operate mobile technology and coach others to do the same

  • Ability to complete online WI Responsible Beverage Server Training

  • Ability to attend an orientation at a time & date TBD in early June.

Responsibilities

  • Open the SummerStage venue up to 2 hours prior to event, which includes operating golf cart shuttle, unlocking buildings, and preparing point of sale technology, cash boxes, and programs.

  • Fielding questions regarding the organization, the venue, and events, both in person and via phone.

  • Communicating with performers and/or production staff as necessary.

  • Overseeing volunteer operations at Concession Stand, Admissions Booth, Shuttle, and Parking Lot Greeter and training new volunteers as needed.

  • Providing assistance or acting as back-up volunteers 

  • Working with volunteers to clean up and reset at end of each event.

  • Preparing and transmitting event reports, including tracking sales, attendance, & supplies, as needed.

  • Ensuring all patrons have exited the venue, storing golf cart shuttle, removing trach & recycling, and securing supplies/equipment at the end of the performance.

Terms of Employment

Schedule & Length of Term

  • This is a seasonal position (June through September) unless otherwise discussed.

  • Event Managers must be available for a minimum (1) shift per week, unless otherwise discussed.

  • Performance Events are held Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays beginning at 7:30pm - Event Manager should expect to work between the hours of 5:30pm of 10:30pm.
